Make the holes a third of the length of the pole length plus 4-inches for gravel. Fill all the holes with 4-inches of gravel. Tamp using a hand tamper or 4-foot x 4-foot post. For the end, corner and gate posts, add 6-inches of concrete to the hole. Leave the other holes empty.
