Citadelle de Bitche. The Citadel dates back to the 13th century, and became a historical monument in 1979. Its location made it strategic for both the French and the Holy Roman Empire, but after World War II, it finally ended up in France. Today, you can take a tour of the Citadelle de Bitche and enjoy the fantastic view from the hill!. Wonderful Christmas trees have gone on show at Chesterfield's Crooked Spire as part of a much-loved annual festival. By Michael Broomhead Published 20th Nov 2019, 11:25 GMT
