Some of the most popular variations include: Shake the liquors and sour mix, strain it into a glass with fresh ice, then top it with cola. This approach adds dilution and creates a mellower flavor that's rather pleasant. Skip the sour mix and use 1/2 ounce each of simple syrup and fresh-squeezed lemon juice instead.. Pack and pour. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in equal parts vodka, tequila, rum, gin, and triple sec. Add the sweet and sour mix. Shake and strain. Give it a good shake and strain it into a tall glass packed with ice. Top it off.

Long Island Iced Tea Recipe
The Long Island Iced Tea is a highball cocktail made with 5 liquors: vodka, tequila, rum, gin and orange liqueur. Mixed together with cola, the drink has a brown color like iced tea (that's where the similarities end). The modern version of this cocktail was most likely invented in 1972 by a bartender in Long Island, New York: hence the name.. Add all ingredients ( except for the cola and a lemon wedge) to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled, approximately 5-10 seconds. Pour contents into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with a splash with cola, stir and garnish with lemon.
